Why Italy

One of the best value degrees in Europe

Public Italian universities combine low tuition with degrees recognised across the European Union.

Low tuition

Public universities charge by family income — many international students pay between €0 and €2,000 per year.

Real scholarships

Regional DSU grants can cover tuition, a monthly stipend, housing and meals for students who qualify.

Degrees that travel

An Italian degree is recognised across the EU and opens a post-study work permit in Italy.

English-taught programmes

Hundreds of bachelor's and master's programmes are taught fully in English, with Italian learned alongside.

Questions

Frequently asked

Do I need to speak Italian?

Not for English-taught programmes, which is most of what we work with. You will need a B2 English certificate such as IELTS or TOEFL. For Italian-taught programmes you need a B2 Italian certificate, and we help you plan for it. Either way, we recommend learning Italian for daily life and work.

How much does studying in Italy cost?

Public university tuition is income-based and often falls between €0 and €2,000 per year for international students. Living costs run roughly €600 to €1,000 per month depending on the city — Milan is the most expensive, smaller university towns are considerably cheaper.

When should I start?

Ideally ten to twelve months before the academic year begins. Document legalisation, entrance exams and scholarship deadlines are what run out of time, not the applications themselves. If you are later than that, talk to us anyway — some intakes stay open.

What is a Declaration of Value?

The Dichiarazione di Valore is a document issued by the Italian consulate that explains what your diploma is worth in the Italian system. Many universities now accept a CIMEA statement of comparability instead, which is faster. We work out which one your universities require.

Can you guarantee admission?

No, and neither can anyone else — admission is the university's decision. What we do is make sure your application is complete, on time and aimed at programmes where you are genuinely competitive.

What does nova.mentors cost?

It depends on the study level and how much of the process you want us to handle. We quote a fixed price after the free consultation, once we know what your case actually needs. No commission from universities, no percentage of your scholarship.
